Anyone who knows me is familiar with my desire to go to the UK/Ireland, China, Germany, and Russia. Admittedly, those are purely selfish fantasies. I wish to travel the Highlands, tour London and the English countryside, and let's not forget the Emerald Isle. I want to see the other lands of my heritage - Germany and Russia. I want to taste the richness of their culture and hear the beauty of their languages. I want to walk the serene mountains of China and stay amongst the humble villages. I want to see The Forbidden City from the hilltops and be immersed in ancient customs.

However.. One of my greatest dreams is to leave modern life behind and venture to the lower Americas, and perhaps Africa and Asia Minor, to live entrenched in a life of aid work. My family sponsors two boys in Ecuador, one in Guatemala, and one in Mozambique. God willing, we will meet them one day, face to face. It would bring me immeasurable joy to be able to make an annual trek far south to volunteer my services in whatever capacity I can. ..or, even better, to do it full time globally.

I have been working toward a plan to turn this dream into reality. At this time I still do not have a projected timeline for this goal. I prefer not to have a timeline as somethings move slowly and others quickly. I hope to stand on Ecuadorian soil before my daughter graduates.
